About Your Instructor

Ellen Feld

Ellen is the creator and instructor of online grammar refresher courses that have served over 45,000 students. She's worn a variety of editorial hats, including newspaper reporter and copy chief, personal essayist, website reviewer, writing coach, and developmental editor. 

At the college level, Ellen has taught creative writing, English composition, literature, and developmental writing.

She has a master's degree in writing from the Johns Hopkins University and is the author of the book Comma Sense: Your Guide to Grammar Victory  and the children’s storybook Paragon and Jubilee.

Ellen brings a personal touch to online education by encouraging students to share their questions and insights. Grammar Lion students graduate with a new understanding of grammar and language and a new belief in themselves as writers. 

When she's not teaching, writing, or editing, you can find Ellen out and about with her rescue pooch, Hallmark.
